upgrade from u16 to adult

I've just tried to upgrade my youngest sons u16 ticket for the Chelsea game to adult so my eldest boy can go instead, but the ticket office have said they cant do this as my eldest son doesn't have any ticket history, as he hasn't been this season.. if I don't know any other adult season ticket holders or they are all using their tickets how the hell can I use this ticket..??

That's absolutely ridiculous. TBH if I were you, i'd just bring my eldest son along anyway and use your u16 card to get him in. Nobody checks any more now anyway and if you're stopped you can honestly say that you tried to do the right thing only to be told that it wasn't possible. They v happily upgraded my eldest son to adult for the rest of the season and are only too happy to upgrade my other son's on a match by match basis as required!
